Interview with Alisa Anderson

Good morning, and welcome to my blog! Today I have Alisa Anderson here for an interview.

Hi Alisa, and welcome back. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions!

How long have you been writing? How many published books do you have, and what genres?

I have been writing for as long as I can remember! since I was a little girl, books and my imagination were a big part of growing up! Right now I have one published novella, give & receive, an erotic romance, and am about to release my second in the series, give & take. I also have a paranormal vampire series in the works called earth’s first children, which will be out the winter of 2013.

What is something that you absolutely can't live without? (Other than family members)

I can't live without music. It's almost always in the background of whatever it is I'm doing. It sets the tone for everything I practically do. I use it for whatever mood I am in and it soothes my soul. I write it, sing it...I just breathe music.

Who do you love to read? Favorite authors, favorite books?

I love reading across genres. In romance, I love the Immortals after dark series by Kresley Cole as well as the Alien Huntress series by Gena Showalter. Love a good Stephen King novel any day of the week, and the Stand as well as the Talisman, remain two of my favorite novels to this day. I would have to say my top five favorite books in no uncertain order are: Lucky, Jackie Collins, the Stand and the Talisman, Stephen King, Fortunes by Vera Cowie and a Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux.

What is something you'd like to accomplish in your writing career next year?

I would love to have at least ten to twelve different releases out, including my two volumes of poetry.

If you could keep a mythical/ paranormal creature as a pet, what would you have?

Gotta go with Felcor, the good luck dragon from one of my favorite movies, the Neverending Story! It always pays to have a little bit of luck! *winks*

What is a talent you wish you had, but don't?

Wow, that’s a good one! I would have to say one of the big things is drive and less procrastination! The ability to get my thoughts to paper exactly the way I want them and the ability to get it done quickly and efficiently! And can I add perfect spelling and grammar, lol?

What are some of your other hobbies outside of writing?

I enjoy writing and singing, and actually have a soundtrack inspired by my give & receive series coming out in the next month or two. I also love natural skin care and hair care and plan on releasing a product line this year called sofree organics.

Do you write in multiple genres or just one? If just one, do you ever consider straying outside your genre?

I definitely cross genres. I love sci fi, fantasy, urban fantasy, romance, erotic romance, horror, paranormal…what I love to read is what I love to write. Unless I absolutely feel it would be impossible for me to do it, I try not to place that kind of limit on myself.

If you were on the staff to have a book adapted to movie, what would you pick?

I always wanted to see Butterfly and Stars by Kathryn Harvey adapted for the big screen. I think it’s amazing story filled with soapy goodness, but deep enough to transcend to movies successfully.

If you could have one paranormal ability, what would it be?

While I probably would never get any rest, I would have to say the power to mentally and physically heal.

Blurb for give & receive:

Tyler Malone: Life as a rock star is anything but boring. Money, power and fame is an addictive drug I crave that gets me off...every time. Millions of adoring fans, willing to do anything just for me to glance their way. What's not to love? All I ever wanted was the one who wouldn't. She's the one person I crave more than the life, more than the money and power. More than anything...

Danny Blake: Some smart-assed reporter nicknamed me the "The Dark Prince," because I shun the limelight. I prefer being behind the scenes, always have. Fame is now a choke hold around my neck, a dark, lonely road that never seems to end. The one light in my life is her. The person who matters above everything else. At one time I thought we could be happy together, but I lost that chance when I married someone else...

Lena Roman: Owner of the infamously notorious nightclub Sadist, head of a massive PR empire; nothing "Queen Midas" touches doesn't turn to gold. Fiercely passionate, loyal and headstrong, she is the woman who loves them both, with a fiery heat that's all consuming. Choosing between her best friend and the one she stupidly allowed at one time to claim her heart wasn't going to be easy...but she had to, right? You can't love two people at once...

Book one of the scorching hot new series, "give & receive."
