Review: The Sunny Side Of The Mountain

Title: The Sunny Side Of The Mountain

Author: Charliann Roberts

Publisher: Solstice Publishing

Genre: Contemporary romance, suspense.

Length: 315 pages.

Reviewer: Nikki

Rating: 4.5 LIGHTNING BOLTS

Blurb:  He was her rock, her soul. He was her everything. When he told her they should go their separate ways it hurt so much. Cassandra knew as she watched Sean walk away from her, that she’d never love anyone with the depth and emotion that she loved him. Heartbroken and forlorn she surrendered to deep compulsive sobs.
She tucked those feelings away when she thought she had finally found the “perfect” husband. However, soon after the birth of their twins, she began to see another side of Jeff that he’d kept hidden from her.
Surviving a turbulent marriage that almost kills her, Cassandra is finally convinced to file for divorce. She takes the twins and heads up north deep into the woods to a cabin where no one will find them... soon she discovers that they are being followed.

Review:  The Sunny Side of the Mountain is one woman's journey from a troubled marriage to finding a happy ever after.  Cassandra, the heroine, faces many tribulations as she finds the courage to regain her independence from an unhappy marriage.  She has children to think of.  Ms. Roberts creates a heartwarming story of love conquering everything, even when things are looking dim.

My heart went out to Cassandra. I could feel her emotions, sympathize with her, and I felt a victory as she stopped being a door mat and made herself into a self sufficient woman, finally standing up for herself once again.

The poignant story has a mix of suspense and very emotional. I couldn't stop turning the pages, as i was immediately drawn into this well written story. I needed to know what happened next!  Ms. Roberts is a new author to me, but I would definitely look for other stories with her name on it.

If you love a good contemporary romance with a suspense element, why not try The Sunny Side of the Mountain?
