Review:

This was the first time I have read a book written by Emma C Shortt, and I can honestly say it will not be my last. "Taken by the Greek Billionaire" is book one in what promises to be an exciting, sexy, and heartwarming series.

The story begins with a Prologue that explains how three woman, who are family by heart not by blood, need to come up with a huge sum of money to purchase a building that will help other unfortunate teens who can not help themselves. Penny, Rachel, and Lyra understand what it is like to be hard on their luck, as they met each other when they were young and in foster homes. This endeavour is extremely important to them, and they come up with the idea to pick out three millionaires who they will steal the money from. After all, they have enough to spare and will barely notice that it is gone!

First up is Penny and her "mark" the Greek billionaire named Sebastian Demetrious. Penny doesn't even need to see him, she just has to get in his house, get to his safe, pick the lock, and take the money..easy, peasy! Of course, life rarely goes as planned and Penny ends up in an altercation with the man of the house and somehow is captured by the handsome Greek himself. The two are like fireworks together when their passion ignites, and soon the reason for Penny being there becomes dulled as her feelings begin to develop for this intriguing man. Will Sebastian be able to overlook the fact that Penny is really a thief, or will he send her packing with her tail between her legs?

The first 30% of the book had me wondering if all the story was going to be about was sex. Don't get me wrong, I love sex in my romances, but I also enjoy a great story as well. As I continued to read, I became pleasantly surprised and found out that there is a great storyline to this book. It was an extremely entertaining read, and towards the end there is a lot of emotion that pours off the page. Sebastian comes across as very gruff in the beginning, but as the story progresses I began to see a very considerate and generous side to him. Penny is a very determined woman, but also loyal to her sisters, so much that she barely even thinks of herself and her own happiness. I began to root for this couple from the get go, as I thought they were perfect for each other.

I am eager to read the next book in the series, and will also be checking out other work done by Emma C Shortt. I enjoy her storylines and how she adds steamy sex into her romances as well. The only issue I had was there were some minor spelling errors and grammar errors as well. This was the reason that I didn't give it five stars, other than that an all out excellent read!
