Blog Tour: Sadie's Mountain

Sadie's Mountain Blog Tour Banner Updated
Synopsis
One fateful night, Sadie Sparks' young life was changed forever. Just as she was discovering love with her best friend, Dillon McGraw, someone else was plotting to take her for his own. Faced with choosing between the fear and threats and a safer life, Sadie leaves her West Virginia home for good. A decade later, Sadie returns to Appalachia to care for her ailing mother, but stays to fight for the mountain she loves. Her struggles to protect it from being ravaged for coal put her in greater danger than she ever imagined — and back in the arms of the man she never stopped loving. But the man responsible for changing her life so many years ago is determined to keep her under his control. When she decides to break free, will Sadie and Dillon's bond be strong enough to endure the truth about his identity? Meet the Author Originally from Wasilla, Alaska, I now live in Northern California in my first real house with my husband, John, daughter, Elise, and our two mutts, a beagle and an Australian terrier. I’m a vegetarian with a unique accent that merges Alaskan vowels with Valley Girl, and I love Ryan Gosling—but who doesn’t. The eco-theme in my book comes from being Healthy Child Healthy World's first ever Mom on a Mission in late 2009. My story was featured in People Magazine, Lifetime's Remarkable Women series, The Sacramento News and Review, and is a highlighted story on the advocacy website Care2. Sadie's Mountain is my debut novel.  Social Links

REVIEW RATING: 4 LIGHTNING BOLTS

Review: Ahh, young love. Do you remember it?  It's that feeling of butterflies in the stomach, the feeling of the unknown with someone you've grown up with, or even just met. However it is, young love should be treasured. not shattered by a night a young girl could never forget. But for Sadie, just as she was on the brink of finding something so innocent, so beautiful, her life is changed in an instant.

And nothing is the same since.

But as we always learn, you can never run from your past forever.  Come on, you know it's true. But you know in romance stories, facing your past usually means a happily ever after, and isn't that what it's all about?

Well, Sadie's happily ever after doesn't come easily. She's got a lot going against her. Her inner demons, for one. Coming back to her hometown that she used to love so much until danger stole that away from her and she's never felt right since. Oh, and her mother is ill and not doing well at all. The upside to coming back to town? Well, other than actually getting to see her mother...is Dillon. The boy she left behind. Yes, he's the one she had almost discovered young love with. Dillon has a few ghosts in his past too. He feels a bit to blame for how things turned out that night.

The story is full of hope, love, intrigue and a bit of danger as Sadie's past has caught up to her. She's tried to hide it for so long. There comes a time where things might have to be brought out in the open after all.

Yes, this story has it's '"dark" moments, if you will. But the underlying message about second chances, forgiveness and love is what I rooted for the whole time! i wanted Sadie and Dillon to get past their obstacles and find love. After all, that's what they wanted back then, and it's about time they finish what they started!
I'm intrigued for more works by this author.
