Review: Broken Prophecy

Title: Broken Prophecy

Author: Raven Raye

Publisher: Soul Mate Publishing

Genre: Fantasy romance

Reviewer: Tabitha

Review Rating: 5 LIGHTNING BOLTS

Blurb: Only Killian’s bloodline was created with the planet.  No other can accept the Seal and no human can carry the seed to bear the Heirs of Aeden.

Killian, King of the Fey, is in love with Marcella Rowan, human and forbidden to his kind. An errant Angel, seeking revenge, awakens creatures thought long dead or mythological. Marcella’s life in danger and against the Divine Council’s orders, Killian saves her from death—by claiming her as his soulmate. As earthly and other-earthly creatures polarize toward good or evil, Marcella and Killian must survive the forces driving them apart. Only their love can unite the worlds of magick and mundane. Only their love can force their peoples to put aside bigotry, jealousy, and fear to overcome the evil tearing the earth apart. Only the magick they make together can repopulate Earth’s garden in Aeden.

REVIEW: Killian a Fey warrior is fascinated by the one woman he can't have. The Fey don't mate with humans and he knows and respects this fact. But why can't he push the fragile human female from his mind? She haunts him and causes urges he has a hard time battling.

Maracella is a nurse and care giver by nature. She finds peace in comforting others and her talent of calming others soothes her patients. But she has always known she is different but never quite figured out why. Her mere words can calm the most volatile situations.

Killian and Marcella are thrown together when a vile spirit takes possession of her body. The only hope for survival is for Killian to claim her as his mate or watch her turn into one of the living dead. But it is forbidden by his people. With little choice as he watches the woman he loves tortured by the evil spirit he does the unthinkable and claims her. When the council finds out will their fate be sealed by doom?

This story was nothing short of phenomenal! The beginning is a little slow but when it took off i couldn't put it down. This was a mix of genres. Paranormal, Fantasy, Romance, Suspense. It had a little bit of everything. Not to mention the menagerie of creatures. Elves, Nymphs, Vampires, Angels, Demons, Dragons, Mermaids, Shifters, Druids, Witches, Harpies and Gorgons. Sounds like it would be way too much and a big mess but it wasn't.

The world is fantasy at its best but also believable. I grew attached to these characters and watched as the romance bloomed for the most unlikely couple. I have never read a book that was anything like this one. This is a one of a kind story that no reader should miss. Even if you aren't a fantasy fan you will love this book.

Raven Raye writes the most amazing tale and the only disappointment was the next book isn't out yet. I was ready to go out and buy it right after I finished Broken Prophecy. Kudos to Raven for opening our eyes and letting us see into your world if only briefly.

Happy Reading,
