REVIEW: A story with an intriguing premise, an author with a great witty voice, and characters that are well developed and make a great cast equals Mary Indiana. This is a story that you would need to read to believe. The best thing I can say is expect the unexpexted.   There's a sense of community within the story, and with plenty of mystery and the humor, this story took me very much by surprise.

It's more than just a story about a young pregnant girl that claims she's a virgin...but to understand, you need to check this book out. I had a few issues here and there within the story's plot, but nothing that totally took me away from it. I needed to know the ending, and the words that take you from beginning to end have a lot of meaning, charm, wit, and interest.  Okay, Ms. Campbell, you got me. What else do you have to offer? Mary Indiana is very different. A story that creeps it's way into your mind, and holds on tight.

Anneke Campbell was born and raised in The Netherlands and immigrated to America when she was 17. She has had a number of careers: midwife, practical nurse, masseuse, yoga teacher, college teacher of English literature and of writing. She is a scriptwriter, and a journalist and an award-winning poet. Her first novel, Mary of Bellingham, was published in 2004. She was the writer/producer of the ten-part series, ACLU Freedom Files for LINK and Court TV in 2005. Her manual for activists with Thomas Linzey, “Be The Change: How To Get What You Want in Your Community,” was published in 2009. She edited an anthology on women’s leadership, Moonrise: The Power of Women Leading From The Heart, which will be published in October of 2010. She lives with her companion, director Jeremy Kagan, in Venice, California.
