When Reese Hamilton is abandoned in the snow-laden woods, she must find her way to Dáire McLaine’s cabin—a friend she’s known for years, and the man who makes her pulse triple. Little does she know that a cozy night in the woods will lead to passion they both have been longing to explore. But with the change in their relationship comes something darker and more terrifying, and Reese must confront danger, even death, before she is free to love.
Dáire McLaine will do anything to escape his demonic blood and attain mortality, even if that means defying nature’s laws and manipulating Reese’s thoughts for his own means. But when he delves into her hidden secrets, the staggering emotion he encounters makes it impossible to deny the forbidden longings of his own heart. Yet to love Reese will demand the ultimate sacrifice—his life.

Review:
This is book 5th in the Inherited Damnation series.  I will say I did not realize this was the 5th book or I would have started from the beginning of the series.  That being said, you do not need to read from the first book to understand what is going on.  I personally will be going back and read the prior books just to get more of the background stories.
Reese and Daire met through a common friend and ex, Tom who Reese had been dating for 5 years.  Daire met Tom and Reese within hours of them meeting each other.  This fact is something Daire has been jealous of, for he has been drawn to Reese since they met.
Reese and Tom have a blow up that causes them to end their five year very bad relationship while on a camping trip in the middle of the woods.  Now I do not understand why any woman would spend that long in a bad relationship.  For the story I see that Reese needed to this to happen and  let her see things are not always what they seem.
Daire is a guy who is a romantic at heart, but had never known it. I liked seeing his passion build up for Reese. Using his mental powers to help bond them mentally, he went above and beyond and linked them on a spiritual level.  Daire is also just very Yummy!!
This book contained everything I like in a good book.  Hot men, passion, magic and the things that go bump in the night.  I enjoyed this book and would recommend this title.  I will also be going back and reading the previous books as well.  I have a feeling they will be just as good as this one.

  1. Good review! This sounds like an interesting series. I'll have to give the first book a try.
