Hi Stacey, and welcome to Storm Goddess Book Reviews. Glad to have you with us today. Thank you for taking the time to answer my prodding questions! :)
Tell me about yourself, and your
writing.
I’m a mom and wife. My time is split
right down the middle between both of my “jobs”. So, if I’m not
on the keyboard then I’m playing Barbies, making silly crafts, or
spending the day at park. I love the outdoors and the second summer
hits we like to go camping as often as we can, which usually works
out to 2-3 times a month. What can I say? I love campfires and
s’mores!!
How long have you been writing? How
many published books do you have, and what genres?
I’ve been writing since 2009 and had
my first book published in 2010. Since then, I’ve had over thirty
novellas and short novels published. Although, some of them have been
pulled from distribution and are being rereleased down the road.
Do you write in multiple genres or
just one? If just one, do you ever consider straying outside your
genre?
I write urban fantasy/paranormal
romance and erotic romance, which also includes BDSM. I have a thing
for writing Alpha men so these genres tend to fit that nicely. My
favorite is by far urban fantasy romance. It’s a hoot to write! I
love the supernatural elements and how creative I can get with the
world building. I love the fast-paced action and also the romance
too. It’s really my favorite place to be and the easiest genre for
me to write.
Are you a plotter or do you write
from the seat of your pants?
For most stories, I never plot or
outline. I usually just sit down and let the characters tell the
story. But for stories, like DEMONICALLY TEMPTED, I did have to
outline that one because the plot was more complicated. There were
certain points I needed to hit in that stories especially since they
will have an impact on book three, MYSTICALLY BOUND. I needed to see
them out in front of me to make sure I wasn’t missing anything.
Usually I outline when my plot and
subplots are complex. Also, if there are quite a few subplots working
together I like to make sure I hit all the plot points, so having an
outline helps me find the flow of the story. That’s normally how I
do it. I write down the three major plot points with the biggest
twists in the story, then work around them. But my outlines are very
simple and in point form. Then with the guide to follow, I go panster
style and write. Typically, my outlines are always changing.
Who do you love to read? Favorite
authors, favorite books?
Anything
by Jeaniene Frost, Keri Arthur and Katie MacAlister—I adore their
writing and am a huge fan!
If you could keep a mythical/
paranormal creature as a pet, what would you have?
An Ewok. Really I want one!!
Tell us a little about your latest
release.
DEMONICALLY
TEMPTED is a mix between urban fantasy and paranormal romance with a
dash of humor and of course, some of the steamy stuff too. I
typically tend to write between the genres because I love both so it
comes out in my writing. It’s a fast paced story that gets a little
dark at times and is a lot of fun.
Tess Jennings, now a member of the
Memphis Police Department, is on her first cold case. The suspected
suicide of Lizbeth Knapp ten years ago isn’t a theory her family
accepts—they believe she was murdered.
But the case is only one of Tess’s
worries. Ghosts are talking, and word of her abilities rapidly
spreads. A dark ghost is terrifying the spirits of Memphis, and she
must force the entity to cross over.
Tess doesn’t have to do this alone.
Not only does she have her ghost-lover, Kipp McGowen, but the
department has brought in a medium. Dane Wolfe might answer all her
questions, but he also brings a world of trouble. Will Tess finally
have all she’s ever wanted, or will everything she’s vowed to
protect be ripped away?
What is something that you
absolutely can't live without? (Other than family members)
Coffee. I’m 100% addicted and can’t
function without it.
Could you ever co author a book with
someone? If so, who would you choose, and what would you write?
Tough answer. I could pick any of my
favorite authors like Keri Arthur or Jeaniene Frost, but I think I’d
have to go with Katie MacAlister. I think she’s so witty and I love
her alpha men. Really, anyone who can come up with the humor she does
in her stories would just be a blast to write with!
If you were on the staff to have a
book adapted to movie, what would you pick?
I’d love to see the Dark Angles
series by Keri Arthur be made into a movie. Might be because I have a
huge crush on the Reaper, Azriel, and I’d love to see him on
screen. But for the most part, I just think those would make
fantastic movies!
Favorite color? Blue
Weather: Hot or cold?
Neither—I’m happiest right in the middle. I love autumn!
Favorite place to read? Outside
under a tree.
Favorite meal? Chicken Cordon
Bleu
Favorite non-alcoholic drink?
Pepsi
Thank you for the interview and
letting me stop by!

Sounds really interesting.
ReplyDeleteGreat interview! I'm addicted to coffee too. I just recently started adding a shot of espresso to my coffee. My hubby calls it rocket fuel. LOL The book sounds like a good read. I like humor in my paranormal books and I feel like it's hard to come by. Thanks for the post!
ReplyDeleteGood interview! I too am a fellow coffee addict...lol...Demonically Tempted sounds really good and I like that the cover has a bit more of an "urban fantasy" feel about it. I think I have the first book in this series at home on my Kindle (left it at home by accident)- if not I'll have to add both books:)
ReplyDeleteAnother fellow coffee addict. Coffee makes my world worth living.
ReplyDeleteYour books sound amazing. And covers are awesome.
I have to say I always love Stacey's covers. This was a great interview, thanks for taking the time to give us a glimpse of you.
