VBT: Nero. Review + Character Interview

Have I got a major treat for y'all today! First off, I have the characters Nero and Elle here for a character interview, and then I'll share my review of this gut twisting emotional story!

Nero and Elle are sitting on the black leather sofa in their brand new hotel apartment…

~Thanks so much for hanging out with me today!  Loved your story…and I gotta ask… Nero, had you noticed Elle before all the “Drama” went down?

“I did. I noticed her the first day of school our freshman year, but I thought she was a good girl.” Nero smiled wide.

~What were your first impressions of each other, when really meeting for the first time?

Nero spoke first, “Well she was sexy as fuck up close, for some reason I wasn’t expecting that. Then when she apologized to me for running into her, I wanted to throw her over my shoulder.”
Elle laughed “Well you did end up doing that…” She continued, “Honestly at first he scared the hell out of me.”

~What are three things you Like and Dislike about each other?

Elle started, “I dis-“

“I love everything about Elle, so there is nothing to like or dislike about her.” Nero said matter of factly.

Elle blinked her eyes a few times, “I feel the same way.”

~Nero, were you aware of how your classmates were treating Elle, or seeing it first hand was really the first time you noticed how bad things were for her?

Nero flexed his jaw, “I thought it was just the fucking girls picking on her by doing stupid shit like calling her ‘waitress’, I didn-“

Elle laced her hand in Nero’s, “It doesn’t matter.”

~Let’s just say that the way you two came together is a bit unconventional…ya know…when you start dating a girl your father has a hit on…Nero, or Elle, when did you know it was “Real”?  Do you remember the moment you looked at the other person and just thought…”This is it.”?
Nero quickly responded, “Seeing her limp in the alleyway really made it clear to me…”
“Well when I saw Stacy get in Nero’s car that day that made it pretty clear to me.” Elle
retorted.
~When the story ends, there is still a bit of tension between you both, and each other’s families.  How are things now?  Everyone spending the holiday’s together as One Big Happy Family?
Nero shrugged, “Well in an Italian family like mine, there is always fucking tension.”
Elle violently shook her head.
~So you two are living together, and Elle is starting college soon, do we hear wedding bells in the near future?
“Nope, we both agree there is no rush. This isn’t sixteen and pregnant.” Elle smiled.
~Do you know who is getting the next story??  Any hints from any certain besties or family members…..

Elle cocked her head to the side, “Besties?”
Nero leaned forward, “Family members?”
They both looked at each other. Elle crossed her arms, “If you’re trying to figure out who Chloe will be with your shit out of luck, because no way in hell Chloe is-”
“We don’t know.” Nero stated.

Review: I'm still trying to wrap my mind around this story!

Okay, it did start off a little slow. Still, I found myself captured by the writing and the characters, because it hit me with a punch from the start. Elle and her friend go through hell in high school.  I should just say this book may not be for the faint of heart. it's intense at times, it's crude, and there are people you wish you could just erase from your memory. I've had my own share of bullying growing up, but it was more emotional and not like some of this. This is downright physical and messed up.  I know I hear stories ALL the time of painful bullying and this story really just...it hit me. OMG. So I can easily say I felt for Elle and Chloe. Elle grabbed me from the start because while she has her share of bullying, she's one hell of a girl! She's sarcastic, fires back quips like they're nothing, and she's fierce. She will do ANYTHING to protect her best friend Chloe. ANYTHING.

Then something happens and Nero, the popular one of the school, is forced into her life. He's possessive, he's a jerk and he's crude. Or is he?

Yeah, okay he is. But...I'm drawn to him! If I have to be honest, I don't see the big hype in the overly possessive alpha male dominant types. Nero fits the bill in many of these, yet there's something about him that tugs on me. You get to see a new side to him with Elle.

Their chemistry? On fire. Big time. And one thing I love about Elle is that she doesn't take crap from Nero. She's not one who just lets the alpha walk all over her. No, she's got one hell of a feisty attitude and I LOVE her for it. (Take that, Nero! Whatcha gonna do now, huh?)

There's so much to this story. My heart raced. I laughed, I cried. I got extremely pissed off. I was scared.  I was shocked. There's twists, turns, secrets, dark moments....I read the book within a few hours.   When I thought there couldn't possibly be any more twists and secrets, I was wrong.

Is this book going to be for everybody? No. It's unconventional in some aspects. It pushes boundaries. It's intense in the sense of some of the things that happen. There's much darker books out there, absolutely, but this one is definitely not a light, fluffy read. It captured my attention, it's making me think...in fact I still have the jittery feeling in my stomach from the way my emotions were toyed with.

Hey! My name is Sarah Brianne and after living for twenty-two years the characters in my head told me enough was enough and I have finally put pen to paper (or is it finger to keyboard?) to tell their stories. Since I was a little girl I have watched every chick flick I could get my hands on, then when I became older I discovered a whole new world of romance novels. To me there is nothing better then a tale of true love and those are the stories that have inspired me to write.
