Review:
In this story, readers will meet two women who have come along way from their pasts. Their lives are entwined by one thing. No, I'm not going to tell you what it is.
The story is told in different points of view. We get a glimpse of Carly's past and her present. We also get a glimpse of Tabby's past and present. Trudy Stiles takes us on one hell of an emotional journey as we see from start to finish the hardships these women go through and how it brings them to right now.
Tabby's life is surrounded by mistrust and pain. She was abandoned by her mother at birth and the circumstances of her world and where she comes from are unknown. She's certainly no stranger to pain. There's so many choices she makes that aren't the best for her until she's finally had enough and learns to press forward- at a price.
Carly has had a similar experience, but her background is very different. Still, she can relate to Tabby on many levels and the women begin to bond. I love Carly's husband, Kyle. I'll dub him as my new book boyfriend! No, seriously, this guy is amazing. He swept into Carly's life when she hit a low patch, after some devastating events. Kyle becomes her friend, and eventually, so much more. Their love is beautiful, and pure.
The ending of this story makes me want the next book NOW! My stomach was in knots and my heart skipped a few beats. Oh, things are going to shake up!
All in all, this is one amazing story. It's the lives of two women that fight hard to rise once again and be strong. They have tough times, but they also have beautiful moments that left me smiling. The author has a way of keeping us on our toes, wanting more and more just because these characters are so endearing and strong. I loved everything about this book. I loved the way it tugged on my heartstrings. I think this one is going on my list of best books of the year! Very touching. I'm insanely eager to read more by this author. What a debut!
