The Future of Our Past
Julia Abbot and Ryan Matthews have been in separable best friends since the moment they met. Each of the fight an internal battle, unwilling to risk their incredible friendship, but unable to quell their deep (but secret) longing for the other. On the verge of Ryan's departure to Harvard Medical School and Julia's for her new job on the opposite coast, they are forced to face the undeniable truth of their deeper feelings and find themselves enthralled in a passion like neither has ever known.
The lovers are faced with forced separation, great distance, and others who try to come between them as they work to build the shared future they both dream of. When their lives begin to finally gel, Julia is offered a promotion that will jettison her career to new heights. Ryan is left angry and bereft as it will only postpone their reunion yet again. In light of all she has sacrificed for him, he can hardly deny her, and Julia is faced with the most difficult decision of her life. Will she chose the chance of a lifetime or the love of her life?

Review Rating: 4 LIGHTNING BOLTS

Review:  Just when everything is changing, when life takes best friends in separate directions, both Ryan and Julia fear losing the other. They've had feelings, feelings they've keep buried from the other even though everyone around them could tell that they were in love with the other.  Now, as the choices are among them for their future, a new change occurs- the chance to take of love.

Now, Ryan and Julia not only have new lives to live, as Ryan takes gets into school in Boston, and Julia has an opportunity for an amazing job.  Who knows what the future holds for them as a couple, but what they know is they can't be without the other for too long. The long distance relation takes a toll, but they both know this is what they want. Everything is about finding a way to be together.

Written in the first person point of view, we readers get a glimpse of both Julia and Ryan. I'll tell you, these two are so passionate. I love both characters.  Ryan has a bit of a possessive and jealous streak which can be a bit overbearing, but other than that, he's a sweet, down to earth man that has a heart full of love.

Julia is strong willed and full of life.  I enjoy her passion for her job and what a good friend she is to everyone. The intense love she feels for Ryan jumps right off the pages.

I'll warn you, the end of this book has a cliffhanger! I'm so glad I had the 2nd book to read because I would have screamed! (Really, ask my husband how I get with TV cliffhangers...it's not pretty!)

I love the power, the passion, and the lengths this couple goes through to find their happily ever after, but it doesn't come to them quite yet. The climax of this story is intense, and it only gets crazier from there.  This is a trilogy and I've read books one and two, and can't wait for the third.

Stay tuned tomorrow when I reveal my review for Don't Forget to Remember Me.
