Blurb: The most potent lover she’s ever had…and the morning sickness to prove it!
Lucy Rice knew that a night of uninhibited passion with sex-on-a-stick Reilly Jennings would leave a lasting impression on her body. But never in a million years did she expect to see a plus sign appear on that little white stick.
Pregnant? She can’t believe her eyes. When a second test confirms it, Lucy admits the truth. She’s about to be a one-night-stand mommy. How’s that for luck?
Reilly never wanted the responsibility of fatherhood, much less tie himself to an infuriating, headstrong woman like Lucy. Still, his sense of honor won’t let him abandon his baby like his biological parents abandoned him. Yet it isn’t long before he’s captivated by the coming baby—and the mother carrying it.
Lucy is rocked with all sorts of conflicting feelings for the father of her child. Unfortunately, she’s been down that road before, and it left her a blubbering mess. Not again. No way, no how. Except Reilly seems hell-bent on keeping her close. Maybe it’s the hormones, but Lucy’s beginning to forget why that’s a bad idea…
REVIEW:Reilly's Wildcard is Book Four in Anne Rainey's Blackwater Series. Don't miss out on the previous books in this series. This is one of my favorites.
Book One - Sam's Promise
Book Two - Vance's Rules
Book Three - Breaking Brodix
Lucy Rice is a woman recovering from a bitter divorce. Men are all dogs and untrustworthy in her eyes. They have proven that time and again throughout her life. Even her own father never had the time or love for her she craved. If you can't trust your father or husband then what man can you trust?
Reilly Jennings isn't your average guy. He likes to live by his own rules and a true relationship just doesn't fit into the mold. Until he meets Lucy and his world spins out of control. All he can think about it the sexy little minx that has stolen his heart. Now he is having second thoughts on where he thought his life was going.
Things only get more complicated after an amazing one night stand leaves Lucy pregnant and on the run from Reilly. But Reilly is determined to prove to Lucy he can be everything to her that no other man ever has been before. Nothing is going to stand in his way. Getting the girl of his dreams is the only thing he can think about and giving up on the head strong little minx isn't an option.
This story is about how a chance encounter can become so much more than just a one night stand. Raw with emotion and the sacrifices we are willing to make for love. Sometimes love doesn't come easy but it is worth fighting for and this story brings new meaning to love sneaking up on you when you least expect it.
The characters in this story are real and their emotions spill out on the page. You can't help but feel a connection and grow to love them. Hoping that Reilly can convince Lucy to trust him enough for him to show her what true love really is. Nothing short of amazing!
Anne Raine is a master at writing a family saga! I love reading about each brother and look forward to reading more in this series. Yep! There is still one brother left and I know his story is going to be a wild ride. Not to mention he is Reilly's twin brother. Yes ladies there are two of them.
I would recommend this story to anyone that loves a good romance that scorches the pages and may bring a tear to your eye as well. Kudos to Anne Rainey for letting readers peek into the lives of the Jennings family and fall in loves with their charm. The love and turmoil this family has suffered and come out better than they were through the love of a close family is astounding. Even with tragic childhoods the Jennings men are strong and loving because of their adoptive parents and that just warms the heart. Don't miss out on this series. It is so multidimensional that I can't even begin to tell you everything. You will just have to read it for yourself.
Happy Reading,
