Review: Callie's Heart

Title: Callie's Heart

Author: Kathleen Ball

Publisher: Desert Breeze

Genre: Contemporary romance

Length: 234 pages

Reviewer: Tabitha

Review Rating: 4 LIGHTNING BOLTS

Blurb: Callie Daniels' mother has one dying wish. She wants neighboring rancher, Garrett O'Neill, to marry her seventeen year old daughter.

Four years later, Callie comes home and finds the new housekeeper, Sylvie in Garrett's arms.

Callie finally gets her heart's desire. Alone in a line shack, they make sweet love for the first time. Unfortunately the next morning the love light is gone from Garrett's eyes.

Threats and the killing of their livestock bring them together but is it enough for this Cowboy and Callie to find the love they have for each other?

REVIEW: Garrett still sees Callie as the young girl he watched grow up. Yeah he is her husband but only because it was her mother's dying wish. He feels he is too old and harsh to love someone as sweet as Callie.

Callie use to follow Garrett around with stars in her eyes. A young girl with a huge crush but that innocent crush has turned to passion. She is no longer a child. Now she's  a strong and beautiful woman that is ready to take the bull by the horns and get Garrett's attention.

This story stretched way past just being a romance. It was hard to stay grounded as the author whipped you around each corner to a new danger. Now when I say hard to stay grounded I mean that in a good way. This story has romance, heartbreak, danger, betrayal, and mystery. Characters are not what they seem and yes some of it is shocking. Lots of twists and turns you will never see coming. If found myself thinking wow no way! The plot is very detailed with exciting sub plots wound seamlessly throughout.

I would recommend this book to anyone that like detailed plots with surprises around every corner.

Happy Reading,
