The books can be read as stand-alone stories, but it is advisable to read them in order to get the most enjoyment from the series.

Dr. Allison Baker is obsessed with saving the comatose New Species male. She has tried everything and there’s only one option left. Alli will break every rule and put her life in danger by tempting 880 to wake, using only her feminine scent and touch. She just has to kidnap him and crawl into bed with him to make it work.

880 wakes in a different world with a small female who’s been sleeping beside him, caressing him and wrapping her sweet body around his, teasing his senses. He lies silent and still, listening and evaluating each arousing touch, fighting his body’s reaction. Hatred flares when he discovers she’s human, but Mercile stole everything from him so he decides it’s fair to take her in return.

But things quickly change and he wants her at his side and in his bed. 880 has chosen a new name—Obsidian—the personification of dark and dangerous. He’ll fight them all to keep her and no one will stand in his way of taking a new mate as well

Over View:

What do you do when a sexy alpha male loses his will to live? You kidnap him and give him a reason to fight.

880 is New Species and has lived a torturous life at the hands of cruel humans. He decides he has nothing to live for after he watches helplessly as his mate is killed before his very eyes. He suffers traumatic injuries when he fights with everything he has to save her but slamming himself into metal bars leaves him in a coma. Until a sweet female’s scent and touch pulls him from the dark void. But now he has a name, his freedom and all he wants is to claim the fragile little human and no one is going to stand in his way.

Alli is a doctor at the NSO. Taking care of the New Species is what she lives to do. The cruelty they endured at the hands of humans is heartbreaking. She can’t change that, but she can make a difference and show them not all humans are cruel and unethical. But once she meets 880 something changes and when she comes up with a plan to pull him from his coma she is shot down and told no. It may break a few rules…and get her fired… but a life is at stake and she is a doctor through and through.

Review:

This book was hilarious, dramatic, sad and very sexy. I found Obsidian to be a sexy as sin and dominating, but when you find out what he went through you understand. When it comes down to it, he loves Alli with a passion most women only dream about. I really felt the heat from this character. There is nothing like a sexy alpha male to get your blood pumping.

Alli was a very strong character that didn’t let Obsidian bully her. In fact she slapped him for his pushy ways. I found that to be very funny. I like it when the characters are evenly matched and Laurann did it beautifully.

Another book in this series that lights the pages on fire. Be careful when reading this book you might singe your fingers. I know I will never be disappointed when I read a Laurran Dohner book. Can’t wait for the next one in the New Species series.

Kudos to Laurann Dohner for her steamy sex scenes and endearing characters. You will remember these characters long after the book is finished. If you haven’t read this series or for that matter any of her series you are missing out.

My only question is…where do I get one of these hunky guys?

Happy Reading,
Tabitha Blake
