Interview with Farah and Keller from Two Timing The Boss

Welcome to Monday! I have two very special guests here with me today. Some of you may not know them, but if you've read Christine Warner's Two Timing The Boss, you'll recognize them. Farah and Keller are the featured couple in this contemporary romance story. So, I present to you, the characters from Two Timing The Boss!

ME: Hi guys, how are you doing? It's nice to have you here with us today!

Farah scoots closer to Keller and squeezes his knee. “I got this one, hon,” she whispers. She smiles at Nikki. “Hi Nikki, thank you so much for having us here. We’re a bit nervous—or at least I am. Keller has been interviewed several times by the press, but this is my first interview.”

ME: I think you'll do just fine, Farah! Nothing to be nervous about. I'm glad you're here.  How did you approach your author to have your story written?

Farah: “She was driving into work and a title popped into her head. Originally the working title of Two Timing the Boss was Fakin’ It With Farah.”

Keller: “From that title she came up with the storyline of twin sisters who would do anything for the other, even if one of them had to resort to a disguise to secure a job to afford a surgery her twin couldn’t.”

Keller puts his arm around Farah and kisses her on the forehead.

Farah: “My sister Karah was burned in an accident and didn’t have insurance. I’d have done just about anything to help her out.”

Keller: “And you did. Love you,” Keller whispered against Farah’s ear.

ME: Hmm, Fakin' it with Farah....I love how titles grow.   I loved the closeness you and Karah share, Farah, and it's nice to know family still looks out for one another.
Be honest- First initial impression of each other when you met?

Farah, chuckling mischievously. “I’d heard all types of unflattering stories about Keller that I’d read in the press and on the internet. But he didn’t scare me. If anything the bad stories only upped my resolve to not like him. Unfortunately the pictures I’d seen of him were another story. He’s Prince Charming on steroids. When I met him for the first time face to face, I couldn’t breath.”

Keller grinned. “Of course being in disguise with a wig, fake eyelashes that didn’t stick and missing press on nails probably didn’t help your breathing situation.”

Farah: “True.”

Keller: “When I first saw Farah she wasn’t my type at all. I wasn’t into blue-eyed blondes, I preferred curvaceous brunettes—which is exactly what I got.”

Farah: “Lucky you.”

Keller: “Fact.” His eyes twinkled. “Seriously though, looking back I knew there was something about Farah that held my attention besides the way she looked and she attracted me instantly.”

Farah laughed. “I’m sure it was my sparkling personality.”

Keller: “Hmm.”

ME: What qualities do you think you bring out in each other?

Keller: “Farah has given me the ability to trust and love.”

Farah: “Oh, Keller.” She palms each side of his face, pulling him toward her for a quick kiss then turns toward Nikki. “I’m sorry, Nikki. You know how new love is.”

Keller: “We can’t keep our hands off each other.”

Farah clears her throat. “As for what Keller brings out in me. He helped me to learn not to judge a person by other people’s opinions. Trust my instincts. He also taught me to be myself.”

ME:I do know how new love is. It's a wonderful feeling. Enjoy it!
What do you like best about the other?

Keller: “I love Farah’s long legs in stilhettos.”

Farah blushes and jabs Keller in the arm. “Spoken like a true man.” She shakes her head, a smile tugging at the edges of her mouth. “I’ll be the more sensible one in regards to this question. I love the way Keller listens to others. No matter where they are in his company, from the janitor or the men working construction all the way to prospective clients. He treats everyone equally.”

ME: What activities do you both enjoy and love doing together?

Keller: “We discovered we love carnival rides. Especially ones sitting atop tall buildings.”

Farah smiles deepens. “Definitely. But you won’t understand why until you read our story.”

Keller grows serious, placing his hand over Farah’s. “We actually like to do everything together, even work in the office. Every minute I can spend with this woman is doing something I love.”

Farah: “Ditto.”

ME:  Biggest fear?

Farah: “Walking in heels.”

Keller: “Being able to take my eyes off Farah’s rear when she walks in heels.”

They both share a secret look and laugh.

Farah: “Be serious.”

Keller shakes his head laughing. “Nope. It’s in the book and will help explain my comment about carnival rides.”

Farah: “Let’s give them a hint.”

Keller nods.

Farah: “Snakes.”

ME: Ooh, you guys are teases! Good thing I've read your story already. *Winks*
Pet peeves? In general! I don't want to start a fight :)

Farah: “Where to start? Hmm—”

Keller: “Women who don’t wear heels.”

Farah rolls her eyes. “I’m sorry, Nikki, apparently Keller has a one track mind today.”

ME: *Giggling.* It's okay.  It's making me laugh. He's funny!
Is there a talent you wish you had, but don't?

Keller: “I always wished I had a good singing voice.”

Farah jerks her head around toward Keller: “I didn’t know that. Why?”

Keller: “So I could sing love songs to you.”

Farah: “Then I wish you had a good singing voice too.”

Keller drew his eyebrows tight. “Hey, are you saying I don’t?”

Farah’s lips twitched. “You said it first, I’m just being agreeable.”

Keller: “Hmm, that’s rare.”

ME:  You could always write her poetry. Just don't mention heels and rear ends. *Chuckles*
Biggest turn on?

Farah quickly covers Keller’s mouth with her hand. “We already know what you’re going to say, so you just stay still.”

Keller’s nods, his smile obvious by the crinkles around his eyes.

Farah: “My biggest turn on is Keller’s special occasion smile. It’s a true knee wobbler.”

ME: Turn off?

Keller looks first at Nikki then Farah, his eyes sparkling. “I won’t say women who don’t wear heels, I promise.”

Farah groans.

Keller: “People who don’t help others when they have the opportunity.”

Farah: “I’m in total agreement.”

Me:  I'm with you there, too.
Do you have any idea what your author is working on next?

Keller: “I have no clue. Farah handles that.”

Farah: “It’s that assistant gene in me. Let’s see, I know she is working on polishing up a contemporary romance that she hopes to start submitting soon that takes place on a tropical island.”

Keller: “Makes me want to take a vacation.”

Farah nods at Keller. “We might have to do that.” She turns her attention back to Nikki. “She is also working on another contemporary romance that she is keeping under wraps and then she is almost finished with a romantic suspense that she’s been whittling away at for the last year. She’s hoping to have everything with those stories wrapped up by the end of the year. So fingers crossed for her.”

ME: Oh, secrets eh? That's okay. I can wait. I think....
Farah, Keller, it was a pleasure having you here today. Is there anything you want to say to readers?

They glance at each other and Keller pretends to button his lips.

Farah: “We’d just like to thank our readers for joining us in our story and we hope they enjoy it. I promised Christine I’d share a blurb and short excerpt from Two-Timing the Boss. So is it okay to close with that?”

Keller: “Also, we want to thank you for having us here today, Nikki, and making us feel so welcome.”

I'm glad to have you! It's been fun.
Thanks for stopping by. It's nice to catch up after leaving your story, Two Timing The Boss.

BLURB:

To secure the funds for her twin sister's surgery, Farah Smith will need to sacrifice her values as well as alter her appearance to work for a man she finds morally bankrupt. With a blonde wig and stilettos strapped on, Farah’s a clone of Keller Donovan’s harem of past assistants, insuring a position within his company.

The moment Farah and Keller meet, she realizes her most daunting task isn’t the job, but fighting an attraction to a man whose ruthlessness is as legendary in the bedroom as it is in the boardroom.

Disillusioned by his parent’s disastrous marriage, Keller Donovan is determined no relationship should have more than a six-month shelf life. But after he meets Farah Smith, all bets are off. Suddenly he wants more than a personal assistant and private bed warmer. Unfortunately, his offer of an affair doesn’t sit well with her, despite the stranglehold she's put on his heart.

Can Farah and Keller find happiness and love over deceit and libido? Will the two embrace each other or hold fast to past history?

EXCERPT:

These damn shoes would be the death of her. She could read the headlines now: Penniless P.A. Falls to her Death while on Job Interview.
Almost to her destination, with no more mishaps, her confidence surfaced. Okay, maybe mastering this heel thing wouldn’t be such a big deal. Her steps became light, almost bouncy. Although she sensed Keller Donovan behind her, she didn’t let it deter her feeling of success. She stepped onto the large black and red area rug, less than ten feet from her target. The leather chairs.
“Oh!” Farah’s spiky heel caught on the edge of the expensive rug. Her legs shook and she shot her arms out from her sides, circling them like a bird about to take flight. She fought to regain balance inside the ridiculous stilts strapped to her feet. A brawl to the death. Over when she looked down to see the rug coming up to kiss her face. She threw out her hands, sucked in a breath and closed her eyes, scrunching her face as she prepared for impact.
But nothing happened. There were stars all right, and a blazing jolt of electricity shot from her toes, up her legs, through her body and exited with the small gasp which escaped her lips. Somehow Keller Donovan had grabbed her around the waist before she met the floor.
Heat burned her cheeks. He may have saved her body from bruises, but her ego, and whatever confidence she’d walked in with had shattered.
“Let’s not have an accident before your health benefits kick in.” His breath
tickled her ear from behind. Chills hugged her backbone.
His touch released an unsettling flutter in her abdomen. She sucked in her stomach from the pressure of his strong arms wrapped around her middle, afraid to breathe.

Okay, after reading the blurb and excerpt and also learning the other titles I had chosen, do you feel I picked the right one? (you won’t hurt my feelings…so be honest ;) Do you like another better? Or can you think of a totally different one?

I can’t wait to hear your answers and thanks for visiting with me today!

    1. Hi Ally, Farah and Keller are off for some alone time so I am filling in :) Unfortunately I don't see a sequel in the works for this pair because their story is complete right up to that HEA. I have kicked around telling Karah's story, but not sure if that'll happen. So...as the saying goes "Stay tuned."

      Thanks for coming by :)
