Follow Me Friday: Blog Style August 10

Hi! Welcome to Follow Me Friday: Blog Style!  I believe that  book bloggers should help one another, because well, we all have one thing in common- the love of blogging, and books. I've had the pleasure of meeting and networking with some great bloggers out there, and my little tribute to everyone is to start up this fun Friday post!  The power of uniting has helped Storm Goddess Book Reviews & More grow into what it is today, and I'm not about to forget the help I've gotten to achieve this goal.  My hopes in starting this is to get other blogs some more followers, whether they are a well known blog or a small one, a blog that's just starting out. I'm here to help.

This Friday I'd like to feature Little People in my Head.   The owner/create of this blog is Michel Prince  I hope you'll follow along as I ask some questions pertaining to the blog, and a few fun questions. Ready? Let's begin!

Hi! Welcome to Storm Goddess Book Reviews and More! I'm really excited about this, and glad that you have taken part of the fun!

So, tell us a little bit about yourself!  I'm a wife and mother first I guess.  Boy Scout Leader and writer of everything from Young Adult to adult in both paranormal and contemporary romance.  I love cross stitching and Minnesota Vikings football.

What made you decide to start a blog?  Getting a contract for my books.  I needed a way to show a little bit of who I am as a person and I love helping other authors with promotion.

How did you come up with a blog name?  "The little people in my head" comes from the fact my characters are always fighting for face time in my head.

How long has your blog been live/active?  Since December 2011

What are THREE unique things about your blog?  I have authors from middle grade books to erotica every Friday.  I have no set subject matter.  I can go from Viking football to the merits of writing to camping fun and then back to how to develop a character.  The last Wednesday of the month I have flash fiction challenge highlighting nine authors as well as myself.

How do you go about spreading the word about your blog, and the posts? Facebook and Twitter.

What's the best thing about blogging?  Voicing opinions popular or not.  I enjoy sharing the experiences I have as an author, mother, scout leader and all around nut bag.

What's the hardest thing about being a blogger?  Coming up with ideas for my Wednesday wonderings.  Sometimes a topic will come up and I can go forever.  Other times I'm agonizing over what to write about.

Besides blogging, what are some of your other hobbies and passions?  I'm a cross stitcher.  I love movies so sewing keeps my hands busy while I watch.  Something about focusing on one thing is hard for me to do.  Might be why I have four books going at all times.

Which author have you not hosted on your blog that you'd LOVE to have?  Sherrilyn Kenyon.

Where can readers find you?  How many ways to follow do you have?  You can find me at www.michelprincebooks.com also at www.facebook.com/michelprincebooks and https://twitter.com/michelprince1 so I guess 3 ways to follow me.

How would an author go about getting a feature, whether it be an interview, guest post, etc?  They can contact me or watch for when I post for authors.  I have a contact page form on my Bio page.

Most memorable post/even?  The highest rated post I had was about the Hunger Games called "Warning some characters in this book are black."  I kinda got on my soapbox after I saw the tweets about people that were confused that some characters in The Hunger Games were black.  Thought I'd let people know that yes I have black people in my book.  It was snarky and I really hope something could make me that mad again because people loved that post.

Let's share some firsts!

First post:  Phillippo it was about a camp that I love to go to.

First author interview: Anne Holly

First guest post:  It's nice to have a friend over by Britni Hill

And now for some fun questions!

Three books on your keeper's shelf.  Done by Cassandre Dayne, Lover Awakened by J. R. Ward, Summer Sisters by Judy Blume

Favorite authors?  J. R. Ward, Sherrilyn Kenyon and Phillippa Grgory

Book you've re-read the most?  I'm not a rereader because that means I'm not falling into a new world, but I did reread Summer Sisters by Judy Blume and I know I've read Please, Baby, Please by Spike Lee about 10,000 times, but it was my son's favorite.

Favorite TV show?  Ohhh that's hard.  Right now Sons of Anarchy is probably the one I like now.

Favorite color?  Lilac

What's your dream job?  Writer

If you could travel anywhere in the world, no money holding you back, where would you go?  Europe.  I love history and there is so much there to see.

Anything else you'd like to add in, maybe something I didn't ask in the interview that you'd love to share with readers?  I'm a former athlete, who married an athlete and now have an athlete for a son so in my writing and blogging there is a lot of athletic references.  It's what I know.

Also please check out my author pages on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Allromaceebooks and Bookstrand.

I really appreciate you answering my questions. It's great getting to know other bloggers that share the same interests as I do.  Before we end this post, please share any links that come in handy for you and your blog.

Readers, I hope you'll check out this blog and give it a follow if you haven't already!

Michel has also given an excerpt to share! :)

He set me on the table and I finally looked at my right leg, which now had black streaks below my knee. I had no idea when the shaking started, but I was trying my best to get it to stop.
Nye removed a strange knife from a sheath on his chest and placed it on the counter. I'd never seen anything like it. The knife was about seven inches long and had six sides to the blade that came to point. If it was stabbed into someone, it had six edges to cut with. The knife would make a star-like pattern if it was inserted and removed.
The handle appeared to be made of crystal, laced with deep etches and a small, glowing object bounced around inside the handle. Unfortunately, it was just outside my reach and I was sure Nye was aware of where it was at all times.
“Nye? That’s your name?”
The man just nodded as the glowing object seemed to press against the crystal. If I hadn’t known better, I would’ve said it was looking at me. Then all of a sudden it bounced to the opposite side and back and the knife moved a little causing Nye’s right hand immediately wrapped around the handle. His whole body seemed to freeze in place as his head rose and he stared straight ahead. He seemed scared.
I started to remember what Pamela, my father’s victim from Iowa, had said, how she gained my father’s trust.
“I’m Kiriana. KK. KK because of my last name…”
“Stop,” Nye placed the knife in front of him, blocking it from my view.
“I told you I wouldn’t hurt you. I know you’re human. I know you’re scared and I know you think if you connect with me in some way, I won’t kill you. Kiri, I won’t hurt you. Right now I need to focus.”
Nye started pulling down jars from the shelf to his right. He was flipping through the yellowed pages of a large book as if he were searching for something. His index finger traced fluidly down the page.
“It’s just…”
“Focus,” he barked then turned to me. “No, let’s do it your way. Keep talkin’, I’ll get some tea and biscuits. I’ll know all about you. Well, what you can tell me before you start screaming in pain. See those streaks? They’re just the beginning. I give it an hour before it spreads farther. You know what happens when it hits the middle of your chest?”
I shook my head no, too afraid to speak.
“First, you’ll feel like you’re breathing through a pillow, then your heart will start to burn and cramp. You know what most people call it when your heart cramps?”
“Heart attack.”
“Yep. Now, I don’t keep the antidote on hand because, well, normal people don’t usually get in our way. I can make it, but you know how medicine has the power to kill as well as heal?”
I nodded. His condescending tone was getting on my nerves. Since I’d probably die if he didn’t save me, I bit my tongue that wanted to snap at him. I wasn’t an idiot, but he was treating me like I was a frickin’ moron.
“It’s a thin line with normal medicine. With this, you need an electron microscope to see the line. Ya got me? I swear I’m not trying to kill you but I need silence.”
His voice was strained but not with annoyance. He seemed to truly care. Maybe he didn’t want me to die for fear of prosecution, or maybe because somewhere deep inside he was gentle and kind. Nope. That was the horny part of my brain that wanted to see how many licks it would take to get to the center of his tootsie pop. He needed to put on his shirt if I was ever going to focus and be on guard.
“Can we have tea after I’ve healed?” I eked.
His head cocked to the side and I swore the left side of his lip curled up. He turned back around and started measuring powders. I don’t know why I asked about the tea. It was stupid, but I was still trying to break him down.

  2. Enjoyed the interview and agree with Europe as a cool destination. I was there while in the service, however, at the time, we couldn't visit the then "Soviet Block" countries. Now, I'd have The Czech Republic and Russia high on my list to visit since my first and soon to be released second novel in the series take place mainly in both.
