5 LIGHTNING BOLTS
Title: Wild Horses

Publisher: Crimson Romance

Genre: Romantic Suspense

Blurb: Her family ranch outside of Payson, Arizona, is the last place Castaña Castillo thought she’d ever see again. But when her mustang activist brother goes missing, Castaña returns home to lead the search. Years of bad blood between local law enforcement and the Castillo men lead Castaña to believe the local cops won’t put out much effort to locate her brother. Especially since they think he murdered two federal wildlife agents.

Disgraced FBI agent Jake Breton needs to bring in Martin Castillo to redeem himself and resurrect his career. Falling in love with someone related to the suspect is the last thing he can afford to do. The last time he followed his heart, and not his head, it nearly cost him his life.

Danger, adventure, and death push Jake and Castaña together. Will they learn to trust each other and leave their pasts behind?

Review: Secrets, lies, danger, murder. Just a few key words to describe this suspenseful tale. Need more? Beautifully written, intriguing, suspenseful. Okay, I could go on with the keywords, but I think you get the idea.

From start to finish, D'Ann Lindun draws readers into the story with ease and poise.  The action and mystery starts right away, and there's no loosening up once it begins.  I couldn't tear my eyes away!  Castaña, the heroine, goes to her hometown because of her missing brother. What awaits her there?  Too many secrets, that one by one, she wants to uncover. Castaña is a strong willed leading lady in Wild Horses. She's ready to bury the hatchet with her brother, once she can find him, and despite everyone's hesitance and accusations, she believes firmly in her brother and stops at nothing to find him.

Jake, the hero has a lot against him at the moment. He's torn between using his head and his heart.  What he feels for Castaña, he knows  he should not, but it doesn't stop the emotion from growing more and more each passing day.

Lindun creates an equal blend of romance and suspense in this debut. She brings to the spotlight an adventure full of heart, love, mystery, and through her words, a love of horses.  Readers will be able to see the passion the author sets the tone for very quickly. I loved this story, it's one that I can read again and again, and still be able to capture my heart every time.

If you love romantic suspense set in a contemporary western feel, I'd advise not to miss Wild Horses. It's a gem of a keeper.
