Review: Blank Slate Kate by Heather Wardell

Today I'm pleased to be part of Heather Wardell's blog tour! I had the chance to read and review
Blank Slate Kate and I'm sharing my thoughts today!

BLURB: Waking up with a strange man is scary. Realizing you lost fifteen years of your life overnight? That's terrifying. With her memories from seventeen to thirty-two gone, Kate has no idea who she is and where she belongs. As she begins to fall for the man who found her, she wonders if she forgot those years for a reason. Should she keep trying to retrieve her original self, or start a new life?

My Thoughts:  Forgetting is a part of our lives. Sometimes we're so busy that we forget to call someone back, or you wake up with a foggy memory of the events from the night before. Some lead to disastrous events, some don't.  We don't mean to forget, or at times we do.  Imagine waking up in a strange place, next to a strange person and realizing you're not in the life you once remembered. How about losing fifteen years of your life and can't seem to figure out how this could have happened?

This is the situation the heroine of Blank Slate Kate. This is her story, and how she tries to recall her life. I was intrigued by the premise of this book when it first came to my attention, and I wasn't disappointed.  Her story is remarkable, suspenseful, and there's many scenes that made me laugh and even shed a few tears. Heather Wardell puts so much life into these characters it's hard not to feel for them one way or the other.  This book was a stay up all night finish in one sitting kind of book.  There's charm, witty and humorous moments, there's some revelation and secrets that I never saw coming- this book has it all! This is my first time reading a Heather Wardell book, but after how enjoyable I found Blake Slate Kate to be, it won't be my last. In fact, I already told a friend about this book and she bought it instantly.  This is a highly recommended book.  If you're a fan of chick lit romance books, then really, what are you waiting for?

Do you want a copy of Blank Slate Kate for your very own? You can find them here!

Buy the Book!
"Blank Slate Kate" is also available in paperback at:

Also, currently one of Heather's other books is FREE for Kindle right now: Seven Exes Are Eight Too Many, so hurry and get this one! It's a great way to check out a new to you author.

Author's Bio: Growing up, I was an avid (rabid?) reader. I am a natural speed reader, regularly clocked at about 1200 wpm (I read Harry Potter 5 in just under three hours).

After careers as a software developer and elementary school computer science teacher, in 2005 I took up the National Novel Writing Month challenge and attempted to write a novel in a month. I succeeded, and the first draft of my first novel "Life, Love, and a Polar Bear Tattoo" was the result. I realized I love writing. I left teaching, and I haven't looked back since!

  6. Did a double-take when I saw the 'tease' tag line in my Inbox!

Why? Because only TODAY I had a "what if ...?" moment and started scribbling about two YOUNG [8/9y-old] children who wake up arms around each other and no memories whatsoever - they don't even know their OWN names ...
Not quite sure where I'm going with this, but it might be fun to let it run for a while and see where it takes me ...
