The
black sheep of Fallbrook is back … and he's in for the surprise of
his life.
Former
bad boy, now-decorated Army Ranger Brody McBride is home and on a
mission: Find the woman he never should have left behind and right
the wrong he did eight years ago.
When
the man she loved broke her heart and skipped town, Rain Evans picked
up the pieces. But along with heartbreak, Brody left her something
infinitely better than she could have imagined: two beautiful
daughters. One she gave birth to, and the other she rescued from the
woman who helped destroy her relationship with Brody.
Brody
is shocked to discover he's a father, and he's more determined than
ever to win back Rain and protect his girls. Can they rekindle the
love they once shared and become the family they were always meant to
be? Or will a danger from their past return and ruin everything?

Review Rating: 4 LIGHTNING BOLTS
Review: Brody McBride is back....and he's full of changes. Some including himself, and others are surprises he's about to find out. Brody has broken some hearts when he up and left, including the woman that's always loved him.
Brody and Rain are two people that have loved one another and lived apart for eight years. Rain has taken on some huge changes and now that Brody is back, it's time to face them. Rain is a strong woman, respectable. Maybe a little too forgiving, but some people have the power to forgive easily and not hold a grudge. I can definitely respect a woman like that.
Brody is tormented by nightmares and blackouts, but his feelings for Rain have always been there. I admire his determination to make things right, and he's a stubborn one, so he won't be giving up too easily!
This is a beautiful story about second chances and forgiveness. There are moments that made me laugh, there are times I teared up, and there were some definite "I'm so peeved" parts. All in all, this book made me feel plenty of emotions and I had a hard time putting it down. Looking forward to the next one for sure!
