‘A fairy-tale romance to warm even the coldest of hearts.’ - Chloe’s Chick Lit Reviews

Teresa Adler is the ultimate Ice Princess, with a heart as frozen as the winter landscape of her beloved home, Westerwald. All her life, she’s belonged to the ‘inner circle’ of wealth, privilege and position.

Christian Taylor: Heartthrob. Movie Star. Bad Boy. The mischievous actor sets temperatures soaring in the picturesque baroque principality – and with a wicked glint in his eye and a chip on his shoulder he sets his sights on the one thing he’s told he can’t have. Teresa.

While Tessa holds the ultimate clue to the secret of Christian’s parentage, it is the heat of his touch that will make this Ice Princess feel more alive than she ever has before…

Author Info

I've always written stories for myself but didn't even think of being an author until I realized that being over thirty and living in a fantasy world was a little odd. Writing those same stories for other people makes it a lot more acceptable!
By day I dress in cargo pants and boots for my not-so-glamorous job of making movies but at night I come home to my two little Princesses, and I get to write Happy Ever Afters. Since I believe every girl is a princess, and every princess deserves a happy ending, what could be more perfect?
Though my heart lies in Europe, I'm not too good with the cold, so I live in sunny South Africa.

I hope you'll help me give a BIG old welcome to Christian and Teresa, the characters from To Catch A Star! I love character interviews!

“So tell me, how did you approach your author about your story? I'm well aware of how those like you just pop up out of nowhere.”

Christian: “I came first. Not that anyone could miss me. After all, I’ve been on the cover of both Vogue and Time. Everyone knows who Christian Taylor is. Though my author wrote two other books before mine. How rude is that?”

Teresa: “Not everyone knows who you are. I didn’t know who you were the first time I met you.”

Christian: “Yes, but you’re not normal. Before you met me, your idea of a fun night out was a box at the opera.” “Next question?”

“Care to share a juicy detail about yourselves that we may not otherwise know about you? Oh, come. Let's call it a little game of truth.”  < Winks>

Teresa: “Since truth isn’t exactly Christian’s strong suit, I’ll answer that question. One juicy little detail about me is that I’d never been drunk in my life until I met Christian.”

Christian: (mumbling) “You’re not exactly the most truthful person I know either.”

Teresa: “Would you care to repeat that a little louder so we can all hear?”

Christian: “Like you were so honest with me about the fact that you were engaged to be married?”

“Is there a talent you wish you had, but currently don't have?”

Christian: “Nope. I’m pretty perfect the way I am.” “Just ask my fans.”

Teresa: “He could learn a little humility. For me, I’d love to learn how to surf.”

“Without getting you in to trouble, either of you....what is your biggest turn off?”

Christian: “Those repressed, virginal types of women. You know the sort: all buttoned up, look like they don’t know how to have a good time.”

Teresa: “People who are ruled by their impulses. It’s self-centred and irresponsible.”

Christian: “You see what I mean?”

“Biggest turn on?”

Christian: “That’s easy. Tessa.”

Teresa: “Let me translate his answer for you: any woman who doesn’t fall into a swoon at his feet. Christian is only interested in the things he can’t have.”

“Pet peeve?”

Teresa: “Self-absorbed people who think everyone knows who they are.”

Christian: “Entitled aristocrats who believe they’re better than everyone else.”

“Other than loved ones and the absolutely necessities, what is one thing you can't live without?”

Christian: “This is the one thing that we’re both in complete agreement on. It’s all just stuff. The only thing I can’t live without is those few people who’ve made it into my Circle of Trust.”

“Favorite way to relax and wind down?”

Christian: “A run on the beach. I have a house right on the beach in Malibu and I love to spend the afternoon just hanging out by the water.”

Teresa: “A book and a bottle of good red wine.”

“Where is a place you'd love to travel to?”

Christian: “Now that I’ve discovered the little nation of Westerwald I’d really like to spend some more time there and explore the place properly.”

Teresa: “Everywhere. Anywhere. For so long I was afraid to leave Westerwald, and now that I’m finally brave enough to spread my wings, there are so many places I want to visit.”

“Biggest fear?”

Christian: “That people will find out I’m a fraud. That they’ll realise that beneath the movie star persona I’m still just the kid no one wanted. That I’m a nobody from nowhere.”

Teresa: “You were never a nobody. You’ve always been destined for great things.”

Christian: “She’s so good for my ego. But notice what she did there? She managed to make this all about me again so she doesn’t have to reveal anything about herself.”

“Do you have ANY idea what your author is working on next?”

Christian: “We do, but if we told you, we’d have to kill you.”

Teresa: “Actually, you can have a say on what our author writes next. Her publisher, Harper Impulse, will be running a Bachelor Auction soon to help her choose the hero of her next novel.”

“What good quality do you think you bring out in one another?”

Teresa: “Truth.”

Christian: “Yeah, that pretty much covers it.”

“Well, I know you both are busy, so I don't want to keep you all day, but is there anything you'd like to share?”

Christian: “Yeah. My new movie Pirate’s Revenge will be in cinemas soon. Go check it out. It’ll be the last big blockbuster I’ll be doing for a while as I’m trying out something a little different next.”

Excerpt #2

He crossed to the kitchenette, opening the fridge for a bottle of water. Teresa turned away, straightening the items on the spotless kitchen counter. “Is that how it always is? The same questions over and over again? Don’t they have the imagination to come up with anything original?”
“There are a few rare interviewers with imagination. Ellen is always a hoot.”
He unscrewed the lid and leaned his hip against the kitchen counter beside her, instantly aware of the static hum between their bodies. For once he didn’t move away, didn’t send her off on some stupid errand just to create a space between them. “If you were the one asking the questions, what would you ask?”
The corner of her mouth kicked up into a smile. “Before or after you kick me out?”
“What if I said I wouldn’t kick you out?”
She held his gaze for a moment. God, but she had the most beautiful eyes he’d ever seen, bluer than any sea or sky, with tiny silver flecks that could turn her gaze to ice in a heartbeat.
“Ask me anything,” he teased, at his most persuasive.
“Do you know who your father is?”
“Anything else.”
She smiled, a slow, playful smile that did something to him he had never experienced before. It took his breath away.
“Why do you flirt with them all? Surely you know it raises their expectations?”
“Does it raise yours?”
She pursed her lips, and the smile was gone. “What’s in it for you?”
It gave him grim satisfaction that she hadn’t answered. “It gets me fans.” He reached into his jeans pocket and pulled out the four business cards that had been slipped to him. One with a heart scrawled on it, another with a handwritten mobile number, the last with a lipstick mark in scarlet, the exact shade worn by Susanne. “And I’ll never be lonely. But that question was way too easy. Try something harder.”
Her gaze dropped to the cards in his hands. He fanned them out on the counter, and set his hand a fraction of an inch away from hers, deliberately provoking her. He only wished he was still shirtless. The effect of bare male chest on her was priceless, almost as if she’d never seen one before.
But since stripping off would be too obvious, he settled for the next best thing. He leaned closer, invading her space. With any other woman, the lean-in would have been as natural as breathing. With Teresa, the temperature seemed to go up a few degrees and her breath stuttered. She leaned away, but in the tiny kitchenette there was no place for her to go.
Her long eyelashes fluttered and slowly her gaze lifted to meet his.
Though she stood straight, though her expression remained cool and self-possessed, up this close she couldn’t conceal what she was feeling.
He’d shaken her composure at last. As she shook his.
“Your time’s nearly up. You get one more question.”
Her gaze didn’t waver. “Who are you really, Christian Taylor?”
I am whoever you want me to be. The flippant answer hovered on his tongue, but he held it back. He was tired of trying to be all people to everyone. For just this one moment, he wanted to be honest with someone. He thought for a long moment before he answered.
“I’m a chancer. I’ll take every opportunity that’s offered to me and I’ll do anything if it benefits me.”
He’d admitted as much the night they met. Then he’d said it to provoke her. Now he said it because he meant it.
This time there was no accusation in her expression, no judgment. She let out a sigh, as if disappointed in him. “Why?”
“Because I’m never going back to the boy I was.”
