Blog Tour: Turn Up The Heat

Welcome to my stop on the Turn Up the Heat tour! Not only do I have a review of this great story, i have a special treat....a character interview with Shane and Bellamy! Yes, the characters are here, hanging out with little old me today! Give them a BIG welcome!!

So tell me, how did you approach your author about your story? I'm well aware of how those like you just pop up out of nowhere

Shane: Originally, I was a rancher out in Montana, and Bellamy was an ad exec from New York City whose car breaks down on her trip across the country to her sister's wedding. But then Kincaid sat down to really think about it, and she turned me into a mechanic. Bellamy's always been feisty though.

Bellamy: (laughing) Hey! I might be feisty, but she had your number from day one too. Even in that first version, you had your secrets.

Care to share a juicy detail about yourselves that we may not otherwise know about you? Oh, come. Let's call it a little game of truth.” < Winks>

Bellamy: Shane cheats at Scrabble!

Shane: Um, she said about *you*, not about me. And I don't cheat. I just happen to know a lot of obscure words.

Bellamy: He makes words up entirely!

Shane: Can we have the next question, please?

Is there a talent you wish you had, but currently don't have?>

Shane: I'd love to be in two places at once. Specifically, working in my garage on my 1969 Mustang and sitting in the kitchen with Bellamy all day. Does that count as a talent?

Without getting you in to trouble, either of you....what is your biggest turn off?

Bellamy: Easy! Dishonesty.

Shane: And people who are mean.

Biggest turn on”?

Shane: I think *this* is the one that's gonna get us both in trouble!

Bellamy" (turning pink) Well, I'm kind of partial to dark-haired mechanics with sharp tongues.

Shane: (waggling his brows) Told you we'd get into trouble. We're already talking tongues.

Bellamy: Can we have the next question, please?

Pet peeve?”

Shane: I don't know, I'm pretty easy to please. Just don't mess with my family, my livelihood or my woman. I'm set.

Bellamy: People who wolf down their food without tasting it! As a chef, that drives me nuts.

Other than loved ones and the absolutely necessities, what is one thing you can't live without?”

Bellamy: A really good set of kitchen knives

Shane: A really good set of wrenches

Favorite way to relax and wind down?”

Shane: Eating a great a home-cooked dinner

Bellamy: Making that home-cooked dinner!

Where is a place you'd love to travel to?”

Bellamy: I'd love to go to France and Italy to sample the cuisine there.

Shane: I'm a homebody. Pine Mountain is where I belong, through and through, but if Bellamy wanted to travel abroad, I'd go. We'll always end up at home eventually.

Biggest fear?”

Bellamy: Spiders!

Shane: Watching Bellamy deal with spiders. It's a scary, scary thing to hear a scream like that come out of someone (winks)

Do you have ANY idea what your author is working on next?

Shane: We do!

Bellamy: But we can't tell. Suffice it to say, our buddy Jackson is totally kissing his bachelorhood goodbye in June (Gimme Some Sugar).

Shane: Don't forget Sloane and Gavin in October (Stirring Up Trouble).

Bellamy: Oh! And Adrian gets a book in February 2015 (Fire Me Up).

Shane: Whew! Kincaid's been busy!

What good quality to you think you bring out in one another?”

Bellamy: Shane makes me laugh, especially when I'm stressed out.

Shane: And Bellamy always gives it to me straight. If I've ever got a problem, I know I can count on her to help me figure out the answer.

"What's your favorite line from your story and why?"

Shane: Ahhh. There's my line about the problem not being in the trunk of your car in chapter three. That's a good one.

Bellamy: You were being such a pain in that chapter! I like your conversation in the garage with Jackson right after the snow storm.

Shane: Sure you do! He gave me such a hard time in that scene.

Bellamy: Mmmhmm. That's why I like it!

Well, I know you both are busy, so I don't want to keep you all day, but is there anything you'd like to share?”

Shane and Bellamy: We hope you enjoy our story! And stick around Pine Mountain for more fun, with Gimme Some Sugar coming in June 2014!

Storm Goddess: I'll be looking for it!

Turn Up the Heat
Pine Mountain #1

Blurb

"It's not you."

There are only so many times a girl can hear those words before she believes that it is, in fact, very much her. Unexpectedly jilted by her locally famous boyfriend and haunted by a boss who makes Attila the Hun look like a lap dog, Bellamy Blake does what any self-respecting girl in her shoes would do. She rounds up her two best girlfriends and makes plans to get the hell out of Dodge.

But Bellamy's escape plan takes a nose dive on the side of rural route 164 when her transmission self-destructs, leaving her in the middle of a cell phone dead zone with nothing but her wits. Oh, and Shane Griffin, the hottest mechanic who's ever checked under her hood.

Yet this small-town man isn't all he seems. Can Shane and Bellamy prove that sometimes the most unlikely ingredients make the most deliciously sexy mix?

Review Rating: 4 LIGHTNING BOLTS

Review: It's been one of those weeks...it starts off with one thing, and the next, then the next...yup, the streak of rotten luck continues. But maybe..JUST maybe, something good can come out of it.

Bellamy takes a bit of a vacation from the chaos she calls her life. Oh, and that streak of bad luck? Once again, it jumps out and says "BOO!"

That leads her to Shane. They don't start off on the right foot, but the sparks fly soon.

I've read Kincaid's novells and have enjoyed them, so I was happy to see there was a full length book coming out! Turn Up The Heat is sexy, sweet, fun, witty and full of enjoyable moments. I loved reading about Shane and Bellamy, two people that are quite the opposite fall in love. I love the Pine Mountain setting. I'll be eagerly anticipating more in this fab new series. Don't miss this great contemporary read!
